Hear from Our Members

What does it mean to be part of FEANTSA? Our members share their experiences of working together to end homelessness, and how being part of a European network strengthens their impact.

"Now that we are members of FEANTSA, we are not a voice on our own. We are shouting together with other organisations, which means our voice is much louder".

Types of membership

NGOs working with homeless people and/or on the issue of homelessness based in the EU, the UK, or an EFTA country.
Organisations other than NGOs working on the issue of homelessness based in the EU, the UK, or an EFTA country.

  2. The AC member shares their assessment of the application with the AC. It can be in favour, against, delayed or include a request for more information.
  3. The AC makes the final decision and votes, taking into account the advice from the AC member of the same country.
  4. The Secretariat informs the applicant of the decision and and supports them in the induction process, or in providing an explanation.
What are some membership rights and duties?

Rights as a Member Member

  • Organisations take part in FEANTSA’s governance by attending the General Assembly (GA) and being represented on the Administrative Council (AC), which nominates the Executive Committee (EC).
  • For Members (not Affiliates), travel and accommodation costs for one delegate to attend the GA are covered. The GA usually takes place one day before the FEANTSA Forum.
  • Members have access to the members-only section of the FEANTSA website, which includes official documents (e.g. statutes), governance info, and lobbying contacts.

Duties as a Member

  • Members are encouraged and expected to participate in FEANTSA’s governance, including attending the GA and being represented in the AC.
  • Members are bound to the Statement of FEANTSA Values, available in the members’ section of the website.
  • Members are encouraged and expected to contribute to the Work Programme.
  • Members are expected to pay a membership fee (see membership fee question below).

Travel and Accommodation Costs

  • All Members (NGOs) will have costs covered for one person to attend the GA. If attending only the GA, costs are covered.
  • If attending only the conference, travel and accommodation must be self-funded.
  • FEANTSA may also cover costs for participation in specific activities (e.g. thematic cluster meetings) on a case-by-case basis
How much are the membership fees? Can I apply for a reduced fee?

The membership fees are as follows:

  • Members: 1500€
  • Affiliates: 1500€

Members can apply for a reduced fee based on an individual written request. The following procedure will apply:

  1. Members can apply for a reduced fee through a written request explaining the reasons and proposing an amount they can pay. If the proposed amount is below €500, the Member loses the right to reimbursement for travel and accommodation at the General Assembly & Policy Conference.
  2. The Administrative Council (AC) grants reduced fees based on suggestions from the Brussels office, which consults the AC member from the applicant's country.
  3. Reduced fees are valid for 1 year and can be renewed yearly with a written request. The AC reviews all reduced fee requests every year.
  4. Organisations that do not pay their agreed fee (full or reduced) automatically lose membership, as stated in the Statutes.
