Older People and Housing Exclusion in Europe: The Silent Crisis

Europe’s population is ageing rapidly, with the proportion of people aged 65 and over rising from 15.8% to 22.0%. Yet the housing difficulties faced by this population remain largely undocumented and overlooked.

What are the living conditions of older people experiencing homelessness or housing exclusion? What are the structural causes of this precarity, and what solutions are needed to address it?

The Fondation pour le Logement des Défavorisés and FEANTSA will draw attention to this growing problem as they present the 11th edition of their Overview of Housing Exclusion in Europe alongside European experts.

As it does every year, the report will provide an update on trends in homelessness and housing exclusion in Europe, and on the public policies designed to address them.
