Wednesday 20 May 2026 - ICLEI SIDE EVENT - Learning Group on Community-Led and Cooperative Housing

Building on FEANTSA’s FORUM, this full-day program on May 20th (09:00 to 16:00), will establish a learning group with a maximum of 100 participants to explore how cooperative and community-led housing can create fairer, more inclusive, and accessible housing systems, with a focus on Poland and Central & Eastern Europe.

The morning sessions will explore good practices, the current policy and implementation landscape, and key barriers to cooperative and community-led housing in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe, including governance, financing, inclusion, accessibility, and gender perspectives.  In the afternoon, participants will work together to define practical actions and priorities for scaling these models, identifying the institutional and financial changes needed to strengthen equity and long-term affordability. The event will generate regional insights while supporting peer learning, stakeholder exchange, and policy-relevant outcomes.

Participants are encouraged to join the full-day learning group programme, but are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon sessions, including travelling back in the afternoon of the 20th if needed. Please note that FEANTSA does not cover any additional travel or accommodation for this event, but advises members to book afternoon flights if they wish to attend.
