Health & Homelessness Newsletter

 SUMMER 2021

Dear Readers,

We are pleased to share with you the latest edition of the FEANTSA Health & Homelessness newsletter. This is a publication that aims to bring you news about research into the health issues of homeless people.

In this issue, you will read an excellent article from Caroline Shulman, Briony Hudson and Megan Armstrong on the benefits and challenges of embedding specialist palliative care teams with homeless hostels. While homeless people have extremely high rates of multiple morbidity, frailty and a very early average age of death, they have limited access to palliative care.  This inspiring model embeds specialist palliative care into homeless hostels and provides support to staff and clients and facilitates a multidisciplinary care.

Under the Resources section of the newsletter, you will also find some of the latest research and reports into health and homelessness.

We would like to thank the authors for their valued contribution to this edition of the newsletter.

Please do not hesitate to send your comments, questions and contributions to Dalma Fabian.
