FEANTSA Ending Homelessness Awards 3rd Edition

APPLY HERE

WHAT?

FEANTSA is delighted to launch the 3rd edition of the Ending Homelessness Awards. The purpose of the awards is to identify & celebrate inspiring use of the relevant European Structural and Investment Funds to tackle homelessness effectively.  This 3rd edition aims to use best practice from the past seven-year funding period to inspire Managing Authorities and stakeholders to make the most of the next seven.  Find out more about the 1st and 2nd editions of the prize here.

WHY?

2020 is a milestone year. It is the last of the 2014 – 2020 financial framework. As Member States and the European Commission gear up to the 2021 – 2027 funding period, there is a fresh chance to put the relevant EU funds to work to improve the way homelessness is addressed in Europe.  At the same time, the European Commission is preparing policy action on homelessness as part of its Action Plan on the European Pillar of Social Rights, to be launched next year. The Funds will be an important tool to deliver.

The year started with the outbreak of the COVID19 pandemic, which is having a huge impact on homelessness. There has been a great sense of mobilisation and will to shield those most vulnerable in our society from COVID19. Therefore, FEANTSA is especially interested in initiatives that were established with the goal of protecting homeless people from the virus.

HOW?

We are looking for projects and programmes that have used the European Social Fund, European Regional Development Fund, and/or the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived to tackle homelessness effectively between 2014 and 2020.

We are looking for both projects (on-the-ground initiatives supported by the funds and run by beneficiaries) and programming initiatives (programmes or calls) that have made real difference on homelessness. The project/programme may have already ended or still be ongoing.

Apply by filling in the application form before the deadline of the 10th of April 2021.

3 winners (Bronze, Silver, Gold) will be selected by an independent jury of experts. The jury members are representatives of civil society, EU institutions and national/regional Managing Authorities.

The winning projects will be promoted at EU-level, including in a dedicated Handbook on Ending Homelessness & accompanying audio-visual materials. Representatives of the winning projects will be invited to attend the award ceremony in 2021.

WHO?

Beneficiaries and managing authorities of the relevant funds (ESF, ERDF, FEAD) can apply on behalf of initiatives that explicitly tackle homelessness.  Previous winners of the Ending Homelessness prize will not be eligible for the 2020 edition.

WHEN?

Applications must be submitted by the 10th of April 2021. The jury will select the proposals early in 2021 and an award ceremony will follow in the first half of the year. More details coming soon!
