LGBTIQ Homeless Survey Now Open:

FEANTSA & True Colours United are working together to identify the needs of homeless services in Europe in supporting LGBTIQ youth experiencing homelessness.

We know from research in North America that LGBTIQ youth are 120 times more likely to experience homelessness than their peers and up to 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTIQ and yet in Europe relatively little is known about LGBTIQ youth homelessness.

We want to change that, and we need your help.

Do you have 15 minutes to tell us about your work? We want to hear from all services working with people experiencing homelessness. By replying to our survey, you can help us identify the challenges facing services in working with LGBTIQ youth. Filling out this survey will allow us to develop and deliver resources and supports for homeless services across Europe to better support LGBTIQ Youth.

You can access the survey here

Deadline: 28 June 2019

Please note: This research study is being conducted by Dr. Jama Shelton from the Silberman School of Social Work, Hunter College and True Colors United and Robbie Stakelum, FEANTSA.  You were selected as a possible participant in this study because you work for an organization that serves people experiencing homelessness. The questions inquire about your organization as a whole, not about your own individual practices. Your participation in this research study is voluntary. The information collected in this survey will be helpful in understanding the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and questioning (LGBTIQ) youth experiencing homelessness, how those needs are being met by service providers, and the successes and challenges of service providers like you in providing LGBTIQ youth experiencing homelessness with vital services.

If you have questions about this research study or about the survey, you may contact Dr. Shelton at jshelton@hunter.cuny.edu or Robbie Stakelum at robbie.stakelum@feantsa.org
