FEANTSA Welcomes the EPSCO's Agreement on the Text of the European Pillar of Social Rights

Yesterday the European Council’s Employment and Social Policy ministers reached an agreement on the text of the Proclamation of the European Pillar of Social Rights. This agreement will allow the European Parliament, Council and Commission to jointly proclaim the Pillar in Gothenburg on 17 November 2017.

FEANTSA is hopeful that the 19th priority of the European Pillar of Social Rights, on the right to housing, will become an actionable framework for real progress in the fight against homelessness in Europe. If all three provisions included in Priority 19 are enforced by Member States, then a decent home for all in the EU can be attainable.

FEANTSA is committed to working with the EU institutions, national governments, regions and cities to turn Priority 19 into more political ambition and concrete measures to put an end to homelessness and secure the right to housing for all.
