La Strada, a homeless organisation in Brussels, conducted counts of homeless people in the city in November 2016 and March 2017, to compare results at the beginning and end of the winter homelessness programme. The March count found 4094 homeless people in Brussels, compared to 3386 in November. The counts showed significant differences in the proportion of homeless people in reception centres compared with those on the streets between autumn and spring.
