The Women’s Homelessness in Europe Network (WHEN) has launched a new website.

WHEN’s new website makes available a range of resources (statistics and publications) on women’s homelessness. The website also now allows researchers, policy makers and service professionals throughout Europe and beyond to join WHEN as Associate Members and also invites ‘Think Pieces’ on women’s homelessness.

WHEN seeks to enhance understanding of issues at the core of women’s homelessness and to highlight and address gaps in current thinking and research. One principal aim of the Network is to foster international collaborative research on gender dimensions of homelessness.

WHEN’s new website aims to provide a platform for people to connect and to share ideas, data and new research. It also aims to provide opportunities for people to collaborate in the development of scholarship on women’s homelessness.

WHEN was established in 2012 in response to a lack of academic and policy attention to gendr dimension of homelessness. The network is Co-directed by Dr. Paula Mayock, School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College Dublin and Joanne Bretherton, Centre for Housing Policy, Universtity of York. Organisations that have awarded funding to WHEN include the Irish Research Council, University of York, Dublin Region Homeless Executive and Focus Ireland.
