The Hungarian Government has accepted a Code Red Protocol. The Protocol, which enters into force in November, obliges regular social institutions to receive any homeless person sent to them by street outreach teams, whether they have free capacities or not, during extreme weather conditions. The Code Red can be announced by the Secretary of State of the relevant social ministry when the daily average temperatures fall below -10° C or rise above +27° C.
