FEANTSA's Ending Homelessness Campaign                                       Page en français

In the framework of the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, FEANTSA is running a campaign called 'Ending Homelessness'. Throughout Europe, our members are organising campaign activities. The central message of this campaign is that homelessness can and should be ended. In order to achieve this, FEANTSA calls for the development of integrated homelessness strategies, which address the following goals:

1.No one sleeping rough
2.No one living in emergency accommodation longer than is an ‘emergency’
3.No one living in transitional accommodation longer than is required for successful move-on
4.No one leaving an institution without housing options
5.No young people becoming homeless as a result of the transition to independent living

Launch event 14th April 2010 at the European Parliament!
FEANTSA launched its campaign with a hearing called 'Ending homelessness is possible! How can the EU effectively contribute to the fight against homelessness?'.

'Ending Homelessness' sculpture exhibition:
In co-operation with Danish sculptor Jens Galschiot, FEANTSA members Projekt UDENFOR have created 13 life-size bronze sculptures of homeless people. The sculptures will make a European tour in the framework of the campaign, which began with an exhibition in the European Parliament from the 13th to the 16th of April 2010. FEANTSA and Projekt UDENFOR co-operated to organise a European-level launch event for this exhibition. If you are interested in hosting the sculptures for an exhibition in your country, please contact Ninna Hoegh  or Marie Skjelbo Justesen.
