FEANTSA, the European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless is an umbrella of not-for-profit organisations which participate in or contribute to the fight against homelessness in Europe.  It is the only major European network that focuses exclusively on homelessness at European level.

European Conference, Luxembourg City, 21st October 2011
This year's annual conference focused on Quality in social services from the perspective of services working with homeless people.

6th European Research Conference, 16th September 2011, Pisa FEANTSA’s European Observatory on Homelessness, the ENHR Working Group on Welfare Policy, Homelessness and Social Exclusion, fio.PSD and CISP (Interdisciplinary Center for Peace Studies), University of Pisa, are pleased to announce the 6th Annual Research Conference on Homelessness in Europe. The key theme for this year's Conference is "Homelessness, Migration and Demographic Change in Europe”

 
Social Innovation to Tackle Homelessness: Re-enforcing the role of the European Structural Funds - 28th June 2011
This one-day seminar, co-organised by the European Commission, the Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee and FEANTSA, brought together key stakeholders, particularly policy-makers responsible for homelessness and managing authorities of the ERDF and the ESF, to consider how the structural funds can enhance social innovation in the area of homelessness in EU Member States.  The speaker's presentations are now online.
 
6th European seminar on local homeless strategies – Friday 17th June 2011
On 17th June 2011, FEANTSA, the EU Committee of the Regions and HABITACT will host a seminar in Brussels on “Governance of homeless service provision at local level: One-size-fits-all or diversity of models across Europe?”. This will be a one-day seminar from 9.00-16.00. More here

European Consensus Conference on Homelessness
The Belgian Presidency of the EU Council organised a Consensus Conference on Homelessness  on the 9th and 10th of December, in co-operation with FEANTSA, the European Commission and the French government.

NEW! European Consensus Conference on Homelessness: Policy Recommendations of the Jury
The policy recommendations contained in this report are the outcome of the 2010 European Consensus Conference on Homelessness.  They are the conclusions reached by an independent jury on a set of six key questions. These policy recommendations seek to provide a strong basis from which to make continued and enhanced progress on the issue of homelessness within the European Union. 

 

Homelessness and Homeless Policies in Europe: Lessons From Research
This independent study was commissioned by FEANTSA in the context of the European Consensus Conference on Homelessness, an official event of the 2010 Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) during the second semester of 2010.  It is available in English and French
Ending Homelessness: A Handbook for Policy Makers
This resource brings together examples of effective approaches from across Europe that have made progress towards ending homelessness. Available in EnglishFrenchItalian, Polish and partly in Slovenian.

The changing role of service provision: Barriers of access to health services for homeless people [2006]
This paper examines the approaches adopted to meet the health needs of homeless people in Europe. The focus is on barriers of access to health care and the nature of health interventions. The paper draws upon evidence from seven EU countries and aims to describe the different approaches in their national context as well as to draw comparative lessons from the evidence.
